WATER WAY /Elbe

To reach our skipyard by boat you have to pass a watergate to get
into the non-tidal inner part of the harbour of Glückstadt.

The watergate usually opens two hours before high tide.

This depends on season and wind direction and the water level
of the river Elbe (earlier when western wind - later when eastern wind).

Contact the watergate VHF radio channel 11 or phone up 04124/916012.
Two red horizontal signal lights usually indicate the opening of the
pedestrian bridge in the back.

Make an arrangement using radio or signal horn (two times short).

The skipyards berths are on starboard next to the liftbox.

When you moor your ship alongside the pier, don't forget to moor it to
the poles as well, because the water level varies according to the
watergate's activities and your fenders could become ineffective !
